I am speechless。 It’s 6am， I’ve stayed up all night to finish this book and I regret nothing！ This book has shoved its way into my favourites shelf。 I’m glad I bought the second book at the same time， because that cliffhanger would fucking kill me otherwise！！！⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4/5 stars， purely because the world building was a bit lacking

I had kind of a hard time with this book。 I have had it on my list to read and have seen it everywhere with amazing reviews and nothing bad written。 But when it came down to me actually reading it I couldn't pay enough attention to just sit and read。It took me at least 100 pages to become truly interested。 I was okay with the setting and the world being built but I was highly bored with a girl whose main focus was using her magic to cook。 Emilia's sister， Vittoria （the victim） was much more inte I had kind of a hard time with this book。 I have had it on my list to read and have seen it everywhere with amazing reviews and nothing bad written。 But when it came down to me actually reading it I couldn't pay enough attention to just sit and read。It took me at least 100 pages to become truly interested。 I was okay with the setting and the world being built but I was highly bored with a girl whose main focus was using her magic to cook。 Emilia's sister， Vittoria （the victim） was much more interesting and we barely even got a glimpse of her。It is very clear that Emilia doesn't want to be tossed into this world full of the Wicked yet at every chance she gets she uses dark magic left and right。 One minute she is summoning a demon， who is Prince Wrath， and the next she is acting like he is the one who did everything to her and her family and threatening to banish him。One moment she seems highly confident and competent and then the next she is woefully unprepared and highly naïve。 She evens knows that what she is doing， she has no idea of， but is simply going to plow forward just because her sister would have and she wants answers。I am hoping book 2 gives me what I want out of this book because I am highly invested in those sinful brothers and what they can do over Emilia who is just a plain Jane。 。。。more

1st Reading: 17th - 19th November 2021Rating: 3。25 out of 5- 3rd book in the month of November 2021- 177th book in 2021 reading challengeWhy this book gets so much hype？This month I've been very very unlucky and here I am with another failure。 This is the very first Kerri Maniscalco book that I've read。 I planned to read this book in October to match the horror-y vibes but what I got are an annoying main character and a very confusing magic system within this hell-y universe。 I don't care about 1st Reading: 17th - 19th November 2021Rating: 3。25 out of 5- 3rd book in the month of November 2021- 177th book in 2021 reading challengeWhy this book gets so much hype？This month I've been very very unlucky and here I am with another failure。 This is the very first Kerri Maniscalco book that I've read。 I planned to read this book in October to match the horror-y vibes but what I got are an annoying main character and a very confusing magic system within this hell-y universe。 I don't care about anything or anyone in this book。 I thought I will be interested after I read 50% into but until 82% I'm not。 I don't feel anything while I read the book。 Even after 82% （after shit happened。 if you read this， you'll know） I'm not excited whatsoever at all about this book。 The magic system is blurry and I don't know。 The author just mixed every magical horror-y creature within the universe。 Even the 'House' system in this book is also unknown。I also finally feel what the other readers feel。 The way the author wants to make our main character， Emilia， a badass just makes her plain， annoying， and unlikeable。 I'm just so so done with her。 I also don't have any thoughts about Wrath。 He's just there。 On the shadow side。 There's zero chemistry between our main couple。 There are several good banter but after that， there's just a huge hollow。 The family who can be seen as a very very protective family just suddenly disappeared after Emilia met Wrath and his 'asshole' brothers。 Anyway， I like no one in this book。 The twist at the end of the book is not a twist。 The author just drop the twist and WHERE THAT SHIT EVEN CAME FROM？？？？ The more hilarious thing is the map within the book。 It's the map of 7 Houses in the Hell。 The thing is that this book is still mainly in Italy （even if idk the time or the era this story takes place）。。。。so it's completely useless to give the Hell's mapThis book is definitely hell。 Why did I even read this book。。。I won't reread this book and I also think that the 2nd book will be painful to read too。。。so bye 。。。more
